Directive 96/61/CE , later codified through Directive 2008/1 , was the first firm commitment in this regard. Known by professionals in the sector as the IPPC Directive (acronym for the English nomenclature "Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control"), it provided a new tool for environmental. Control through the administrative figure, known as Integrated Environmental Authorization (AAI). This Directive was transposed into the Spanish legal system through Law 16/2002 , of July 1, on moible number data integrated pollution prevention and control, also called the IPPC Law. After a few years at the EU level, the need to modify this Directive was detected for the purpose, fundamentally, of simplifying the bureaucratic. Procedures derived from it, as well as reinforcing the application of what is known as Best Available Techniques (BAT). . The consequence was the approval, in 2010, of the Directive on industrial emissions, 2010/75/EU , of the European Parliament and of the Council, of November 24.
